The Getty Center (Aug.16.23)
Monday, January 29, 2024 The first of my separate Cali posts is about the wonderful Getty Center♡
첫 미국 글은 너무나 아름다운 게티센터 입니다 ♡
I've only been to the Getty Center once prior to this, and I definitely didn't appreciate it back then.
이전에는 한번 가봤는데 그때는 전혀 가치가 몰랐어요.
It's a free museum, FREE. And anything that doesn't require money is very welcome in my books~
무료 미술관이에요, 무료. 공짜! 돈 안 내도 되는 것은 언제나 월컴~
The main purpose of this visit was to enjoy the beautiful weather via a picnic on the museum grounds.
이번에 가는 이유는 좋은 날씨때 밖에서 피크닉을 하기 위해. 진짜로 날씨가 너무 좋았어요 ☀️
And of course I went to enjoy some art as well~
당연히 미술도 즐기러 갔죠~
My personal art preference is European art, specifically paintings from the Rococo to Impressionism periods. The fact that I could enjoy these for free 🥺
제 취향은 유럽 미술이에요, 특히 로코코부터 인상주의 시대 그림. 이렇게 이쁜 그림들을 공짜로 볼 수 있다니 🥺
I definitely don't get enough of this here in Japan...at least not in Nagoya. I have found one museum that has a beautiful collection, and as much as I love going there, the Getty was a great chance to see some different works
일본에서 이런 그림을 자주 못 봐요...다른 곳을 몰라도, 나고야는 진짜 자주 못 봐요. 여기서 한 미술관 찾았느데, 게티랑 비교 안 되지...
Also, I definitely did not appreciate all the English work descriptions while living in America. In Japan, usually just the titles are in English. The rest are in Japanese, and while I can read most of them, it just feels like more work...if that makes sense.
그리고 설명이 다 영어 되어있어서 너무 좋았어요. 일본에는 대부분에 전시회는 제목만 영어로 되어있고, 나머지는 다 일본어에요. 일본어 읽을 수 는 있는데, 아무래도 외국어다 보니깐 진짜 집중해서 읽어야하고, 어려운 단어도 많아요...노력이 너무 많이 들어가요 🫠
Something about looking out at the busy LA traffic was so relaxing.
Another amazing thing about the Getty is the view✨️

If I'm being completely honest, I could've spent days here. I don't think I'd ever get tired of it.
진짜로 여기서 몇 일 보낼 수 있었을 거 같아요. 질를 일이 없을 거 같음 😍
The Getty Center wasn't specifically on my list to-do for this trip, but I'm so glad I took the time to go. Now that I have come to fully learn how nice it is, I will definitely going every time I'm back home.
특히 여기 갈 계획은 없었는데, 잘 갔다고 생각해요. 얼마나 좋은지 알았으니깐, 나중에 또 가야지~
