Today I'll be doing more of a site/company review than a product one. I'll be talking about Cowcow.com
I originally went on Cowcow with the intention of making some badge pins for my bag for school. I saw some really cute ones on my Explore tab on Instagram and I wanted to make my own.
I went all the way as to make the pins, but I ultimately decided not to buy them. The main reason was that shipping was so expensive (I found out that it's because they ship from Hong Kong. The prices were in USD and so I just assumed that they were from the States). A few weeks ago, I got an email about a special deal they were having: "Custom Cosmetic Bags from $4 w/ Free Shipping!" I needed a new makeup pouch and a pencil case anyway, so I decided to get some while this deal was going on. I figured that even if I didn't like the way the pouches turned out, it wouldn't be too bad because they were so cheap.
I ended up getting three pouches. For designs, I just used some simple pieces from the Sailor Moon artbook, for which there are tons of scans online. The large pouches are priced at $15.99 and the small ones are $11.99. The total including shipping would have been $59.94. Thankfully, I had that deal and was able to snag all this for only $12, which is an amazing deal.
The size of the large pouch is 9 in x 6 in. The design I chose for these were Minako on one side, Luna on the other. I actually got this for my mummy~ xD She needed a new pouch too and I thought it would be cute for her.
The zipper color is supposed to be maroon, but it looks like a regular red. There is also a nice secret pocket on the inside ;)
The only flaw with this is that the Luna picture is upside downㅠㅠ It's my mistake.. when I was designing this, I forgot to take into consideration that I'd have to flip one of the pictures so that they'd be in the same direction. It would have been nice if there was a little disclaimer though...
This is my makeup pouch, also a large size: 9 in x 6 in. Both sides are the same image and the zipper is "maroon" as well :) I don't carry around much makeup, so this was the perfect size for me.
This is my pencil case :) It's the small size, 7 in x 4 in. I've been using the same pencil case since senior year, so I thought it was time for it to retire. Of course I had to go with a pink theme ;)
I picked maroon for all the zippers xD
Like with mummy's pouch, the images on my pencil case are facing opposite directionsㅠㅠ, but it's okay. No one is going to care....except for meㅠㅠ It's going to bother me at the randomest times, I just know it..ㅠㅠ

Process: ♥︎♥︎♥︎♥︎♥︎ The site is really easy to navigate. I only looked at the "Customize" sections because I was interested in making my own things. All you have to do to design is click the product you want, upload the image, and arrange it how you would like it to appear on the product. Super easy! Just make sure not to make the same mistake I did! You want to make sure your images are opposite when you're designing them, that way they come out correctly on the real product.
Texture: ♥︎♥︎♥︎♡♡ The texture is silky and has a bit of padding on both sides. It's not enough to really protect anything, but it's better than nothing. When you touch the pouches and kinda rub them, they make this scratch noise. I'm not too fond of that...
Image: ♥︎♥︎♥︎♥︎♡ The images aren't as clear and crisp as I would have liked. They get kinda fuzzy the closer you look at it. But it looks like it's more of a material issue than a printer one. I really like how the image curves at the bottom to ensure that there is no white space showing.
Shipping: ♥︎♥︎♥︎♡♡ It took 16 days after I placed my order for the pouches to arrive. It wasn't that bad of a wait, but it did make me nervous when I didn't get any information for a week and a half. I ordered on June 14, and it wasn't until the 23rd that I got an email giving me an update that my package had been shipped. I would have preferred that they come in a bubble mailer or wrapped in bubble wrap. Instead, they just came in a plastic mailer with not real protection. Also, shipping is kinda expensive. I mean, I got this with free shipping, but if I didn't, it would have been $15.97. I feel that in the packaging it came in, it isn't worth $15.97.. maybe that's just me?
Overall: ♥︎♥︎♥︎♥︎♡ For the price I paid, it was worth it. I would definitely recommend this ;) The deals are amazing!
