It's finally here! My Sailor Moon Special Illustration Roll Memo!
드디어 왔습니다! 세일러 문 특제 일러스트 롤 메모!
The Exhibition of Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon was open from April 16 to June 19 in Roppongi Hills Tokyo City View. Basically, it was an exhibition showing artwork and goods from both the 90s (the original anime & manga) and the recent (Crystal) Sailor Moon series...at least that's what it looks like from the videos I watched and the reviews I read ㅠㅠ You don't understand how much I wanted to go. I mean, when will there ever be another Sailor Moon exhibit?! Not only that, but all the merchandise looked so pretty~
미소녀 전사 세일러 문 전가 지난 4월16일부터 6월19일까지 롯퐁기 힐즈 도쿄 시티 뷰에서 진행했습니다. 쉽게 설명하면, 90년대 세일러 문 만화랑 최근 만화 시리즈 (크리스탈) 장품과 굿즈를 전시했습니다....제가 직접 간게 아니고, 유투브에서 본 영상이랑 다른 블로그에서 읽었어요ㅠㅠ 진짜 가고싶었는데ㅠㅠ 언제 또 세일러문 전시회가 있겠어요?! 그 뿐만 아니고, 전시회에 파는 굿즈가 너무 이뻐 보였엉~
So, I'm a 90s Moonie, meaning that I like the Sailor Moon from the 90s. I'm not a fan of Sailor Moon Crystal. I like the original style and I like the more artistic pieces from the manga. So when I saw the merchandise being sold at the exhibition, I just fell in love~ Most of the merch is that old style that I like.
제가 90년데 무니거든요. 저는 90년대 세일러 문을 좋아 하거든요. 2014에 시작한 세일러 문 크리스탈 (2016에 시즌 3 시작했음), 제 스타일 아닙니다. 너무 별로...보지도 않았어요. 원조 만화 작품을 제일 좋아해서 굿즈 보는 순간 사랑에 빠졌어요~ 다 내 스타일!

Everything is so pretty! Now that I think about it, it's probably a good thing that I didn't go. All my savings would have gone into buying merchandise xD I have a preference list when it comes to the Sailor Senshi, meaning that there are a few members that I'm not too fond of. But everything is so pretty! If I would have gone, I'd have to buy everything xD
다 너무 이뻐ㅠㅠ 생각해보니깐, 제가 안 간게 다행이에요. 갔으면, 돈이 다 세일러 문으로 갔으꺼에요. 제가 별로 안 좋아하는 세일러 전사라 있는데도 불구해도 다 샀을껄요 ㅋ
As soon as school ended, my search for Sailor Moon exhibition goods began. Unfortunately, that search did not start well. Everything was ridiculously overpriced. I was expecting prices to go up, I mean, that's reasonable. These goods are limited edition so obviously prices would go up. But when an ¥850 roll memo is selling for $30? No. That's ridiculous! The sets of 3 (¥2550) were selling for $70. (These prices are not including shipping! Now that the exhibition is over, prices have gone up even more. I saw someone selling 1 role for $100!)
학기가 끝나자마자 바로 전시회 굿즈살려고 인터넷에 검색시작했어요. 아쉽게도, 결과는 좋지 않았어요. 다 너무 비싼거에요ㅠㅠ 아니, 다 리미티드니깐 당연히 전시회 가격보다 비쌀거라고 예상했는데, 이 사람들이 너무 했어요. 제가 원했던 롤메모, 전시회에서는 ¥850, eBay에서는 $30! 헐... 너무 하잖아요! 세트는 원래 ¥2550인데, 이터넷에선 $70. (이 가격들은 배송비 없이! 이제 전시회가 끝나서 가격이 더 올랐어요. 최근에 봤는데 롤 메모 하나를 $100!)
Out of everything, I wanted the roll memo the most, specifically, I wanted #12 on the goods list. It was the only merch that had the Sailor Starlights! I'm always so sad that there aren't a lot of Sailor Starlights goods...
아마 예상헀겠지만, 저는 롤메모를 진짜 원했어요, 특히 #12. 왜? 굿즈 중에 #12만 세일러 스타 라이츠가 있어서! 제가 세일러 스타 라이츠 너무 좋아하는데, 물품이 많지 않아서 항상 슬퍼요...
Anyway! After some hard searching, I came across Hachi Japanese Proxy Service on Facebook (click on name to go to page). So Kelley, the person who runs Hachi, lives in Japan and had a stock sale of some items and was also taking orders for the goods she didn't have. She was only selling the roll memo as a set, three for $45 plus $12 for SAL or $23 for EMS shipping to the US. It was still a lot, but it was a much more reasonable price than the ones I was seeing elsewhere. So I took the plunge and ordered from her.
열심히 뒤저봐서 페북에서 Hachi Japanese Proxy Service이라는 페이지를 찾았어요. 이 페이지를 운영하는 분이 일본에 살면서 세일러 문 물품 주문을 받는거에요. 롤 메모를 세트로만 팔았어요, 3개에 $45, 배송비는 $12/$23. 그래도 비쌌는데, 다른데는 원악 비싸서ㅠㅠ 그냥 믿고 켈리를 믿고 주문했어요.
I had picked SAL shipping, obviously because it was cheaper. It took about 2 weeks to get here. She mailed it June 11 and it arrived on June 24.
더 싼 배송비를 선택했는데, 2주 정도 걸렸어요. 6월 11일에 부치고, 6월 24이에 도착했어요.
She kept it in the actual exhibition bag!

크리스탈 안 좋아하는데...그래도 그냥 갖고 있을게요 ㅋㅋ
This is the guide to the exhibit. It includes all the sections of the exhibition including the Chibiusa cafe and the Moon restaurant. Also, on the back, it has a little map with 5 locations in Sailor Moon that are based off of actual places in Tokyo.
So the next exhibition that'll be at Roppongi Hills is a Studio Ghibli one. It's in celebration of Ghibli's 30-year anniversary and will have artwork from Nausicaa to their newest movie, 'The Red Turtle'!
세일러 문 전시회 다음은 지블리 전시회! 30주년 기념으로, 나우시카부터 제일 최근 작품 '레드 터틀' 작품있을 예정이라고 해요.
It opens on July 7 and it's open until September 11.

How niceㅠㅠ I wish I could go to Tokyoㅠㅠ I missed the Sailor Moon Exhibition...and I'm going to miss this one tooㅠㅠ

Ta-dah~ This is the box. It has the logo of the exhibition and then it tells you how to use it. Basically you don't have to take the rolls out of the box. There is a slit on one of the sides and you just pull out the memo from there.
짜잔~ 박스입니다! 로고랑 롤 메모 사요법이 써있습니다. 한 쪽에 슬릿이 있는데, 거기서 메모를 뽑으면 돼요!

This is the perfect example of the type of Sailor Moon art that I love♡ You cannot deny that this is gorgeous, you just can't! The I love the simple color scheme. The lack of super colors make the art stand out more. There's just nothing I can say except that I love it all~
이게 딱 제가 좋아하는 세일러 문 스타일♡ 너무 이쁘죠? 색상이 심플해서 케릭터가 더 잘 보이고, 더 집중하게 되요. 너무 좋아좋아~

In all honesty, I didn't want this roll. Compared to the other ones, it's just so boring. Before I decided to buy with Kelley, I had been looking the rolls on eBay. There was a person who was selling just roll #1 and #3 for $65 or something like that, and I was so tempted to buy it. But I'm kinda glad that I didn't. I mean, I saved money and got all three rolls. Besides, the more you look at this roll, the more it grows on you. I really like the Sailor Moon one~ my favorite senshi and my favorite color ;)
솔직히, 저는 이 롤을을 별로 뭔하지 않았어요. 다른 롤에 비해서 너무 밋밋해요. 세트 사기 전에, eBay에서 롤 1호 & 3호가 $65 정도였는데 살려고했어요. 근데 생각하면, 3개 산게 다행이에요! ㅋㅋ 처음엔 좀 별로였는데, 볼수록 이쁜거 같에요~ 전 세일러 문 이 제일 좋아요! 제일 좋아하는 전사랑 제일 좋아하는 색갈 ;))

Obviously this is my favorite roll xD My loves, Sailor Starlights~♡ I like how this roll made up for the lack of vibrant colors in roll #1. All the pieces pop out and it's so pretty.
이 롤이 제일 좋아요~ 사랑 세일러 스타 라이츠~♡ 롤 1호가 색상이 심플했다면, 이 롤은 굉장히 화려하고 밝아요!
These are the backs. I checked each roll and the backs seem to be the same for all three.

My rating: ♥︎♥︎♥︎♥︎♥︎ Both for the product itself and also the seller. The rolls were absolutely gorgeous. The only flaw that I can see is that they are too pretty and I'm scared to use them xD

I have no regrets on spending so much money for these! I'm so glad that I found Hachi J.P.S when I did...if not, I would have paid so much more. I would really recommend buying from her, because I know I will ;) Unless I find a cheaper deal of course. But seriously, everything came in perfect condition!
좀 많이 바쌌지만 후회없어요! Hachi를 찾은게 참 다행이에요...못 찾았으면 아마 훨씬 비싸게 샀을꺼에요. 나중에도 Hachi에서 세일러 문 물품을 살 꺼에요!
I actually have more goods from the exhibition that I bought from someone else. I have two clear files that I bought from kawaiiexpert on eBay.
전시회 물품 2개 더 있어요! eBay에서 클리어 파일 2개 샀어요.
I bought the Sailor Senshi (purple) one first back in April. That was a huge mistake because I paid $22.99 (including shipping) for it. That's more than 5x more than it actually cost in Japan (¥400). Fast forward to June and I bought this second one for $8.99, again including shipping. I honestly don't know why there was such a price drop. I guess it was because no one was buying them..? The ridiculous thing is, by the time I bought this second one, there were only three clear file designs left (the rest were sold out) and the Senshi one was one of those threeㅠㅠ I could have saved $14 if I had just waited a few monthsㅠㅠ (I just checked again and the prices have gone up. The only two designs left are Senshi and Serenity. They're selling for $19.99/ea...still cheaper than when I bought my first oneㅠㅠ)
세일러 전사 파일은 먼저 샀어요. 4월에 샀는데...너무 후회해요ㅠㅠ ¥400 파일을 $22.99로 샀어요. 5배 더 비쌌어요. 근데, 2달 뒤에 오른쪽 세일러 문 파일을 같은 사람한테 샀는데 $8.99로 샀어요. 왜 차이 나는지 모르겠어요. 너무 안 사서 가격 내렸나? 제일 어이없는 건, 문 파일 샀을때, 디자인 3개 밖에 없었어요: 세일러 전사, 세레니티, & 세일러 문. $14 낭비했어ㅠㅠ. 너무 아까워요ㅠㅠ 2달만 기달렸으면... (다시 봤는데, 가격 다시 올렸음! 세일러 전사랑 세레니티밖에 안 남았어요. 이젠 $19.99...그래도 내가 처음 샀을때보단 싸요ㅠㅠ)
The clear files themselves are great! They're just like how clear files should be..? I don't think I'll ever use them though. They're too precious for that xD I usually use two clear files for the whole semester, stuffing 5 college classes worth of paper into them. So by the time the semester is over, my clear files are pretty worn out. I can't do that to these. They are too pretty and too expensive to wear out and ending up having to throw away after a semester. Maybe I'll frame them in a simple picture frame and hang them on my wall...
클리어 파일도 너무 좋아요! 근데 못 쓸거 같에요 ㅋㅋ 너무 소중하니깐~ 보통 한 학기에 파일 2개 써요. 수업 4-5 듣는데요, 학기가 끝나면, 파일이 터질 만큼 종이가 많습니다. 그렇니깐 이 파일한테는 그럴 수 없잖아요. 이쁘게 액자에 넣고 벽에 걸어야지~ ㅋㅋ
