Goodbye 2014, Hello 2015

2014 has really been a good year, a year full of travels and reunions, of delicious discoveries and happy endings. As sad as I am to see it go, I'm excited to see what the new year has to offer me, all the new adventures that await me :)

I had a lot of fun taking selfies. I decided to use my falsies one last time, and recreate my makeup from yesterday. I don't absolutely love it, but there is something about it that I like....if that even makes sense xD I decided to use my Nikon DSLR (which I dropped and cracked the screen ㅠㅠ) instead of my phone. DSLRs are really heavy to take selfies, my arm started hurting after a while. I've officially named my number selfies as my "Hello 20**" selfies. It's something I first did last New Years, and it's taken me a year to think of a name..
"Hello 2014 :)" I don't know why I started doing this. I thought it was pretty cute ;) I wanted to do something unique, I guess. No one I knew was doing this, most of them were posting pictures of food or nice selfies. I was too lazy to actually put on any makeup, so I just put on a falsie...yes, just one xD My left eye looks nice without any makeup, so just to make myself look prettier in a subtle way, I put on a falsie(don't worry, it's not the same pair as the one I used today xDD)
I don't know what I'm going to do for next year's "Hello 2016" picture.. I need one hand to hold the camera, but I need two hands to make a "six." I don't know, I'll just figure it out then I guess...by then I'll be much wiser than I am today!
Just by looking at those two pictures, the only two things that have changed is probably my makeup abilities. It's pretty amazing how much a bit of lip color makes such a big difference. Appearance wise, a lot has changed over the past 365 days. First and foremost, I gained so much weight ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ Well, the weight has been gradual...I've gained a lot over the three years I've lived in the States. It's really, really bad. That's why New Years Resolution #1 is to Diet & Work Out! It's gonna be hard...but my motivation right now is that I'll be going to Korea in the summer. I gotta look good for my vacation, you know?
Another big change I went through over the year was my hair.
In April, after dyeing my hair numerous times and leaving it badly damaged, I finally decided to cut my hair. Ever since I left Korea, I had been growing out my hair, and the shortest I ever had it was mid-back. The last time I cut my hair to shoulder length was when I lived in Japan. I went though I bit of a tomboy phrase and I though it would be cool to get a short hair cut...and it was a decision that I came to regret xD Since then, it has been my life goal to have nice, long hair, which leads to New Years Resolution #2: Grow out my hair and Dye it blonde!
I know that dyeing my hair blonde is going to damage my hair, and that completely defeats the purpose of me cutting my hair in the first place, but I have to do it. I feel like, if I don't do it now, I'm never going to do it. I really liked Raina's hair color from back in 2011 in After School Blue, but at the same time I really like Chorong's hair color now. I guess if I want to go for a huge change, I'll go with Raina and if I decide that I want to go for something more subtle, I'll go with Chorong :3
My next resolution is pretty simple: New Years Resolution #3 is to Blog more! I will admit that blogging is very time consuming, and the fact that I don't have very many readers is really unmotivating, but I've gotta start somewhere. I'm not going to lie, I had this fantasy of becoming a famous blogger xD I know that that isn't going to happen, but whatever. I'm doing this for fun...just because I don't get feedback doesn't mean I should give up. Hopefully someday this blog will become popular enough for people to read, but until then, I've gotta work hard for the few readers I do have ;)
New Years Resolution #4: 한글로 글 쓰기!
Now turning to academics, New Years Resolution #5 is to Further mycurrently nonexistent 日本語 skills! This last semester, I decided to declare Japanese as my 2nd minor. It took a lot of internal debating and planning out, but I ultimately decided that it was something I wanted to do. I successfully finished my first Japanese class with an A, but I can only imagine that it'll get much harder from here on out. Like with anything, I have to have strong basics in order to be able to do good in the future, so strengthening the basics is my goal.
New Years Resolution #6 is also about academics: Finish the Spring & Fall 2015 semesters with a 4.0! I barely managed to get a 3.74 this last semester only because I studied my butt off for finals. I don't know what happened to me over the summer, but I had some really bad study habits during the semester. It was to the point where I was scared I would barely pass 3 out of 5 of my classes. I'm a full time student, so studying should be my main priority. I can't repeat my mistakes, so for the two semesters of this year (and for the four to come afterwards), I hope to do well in the beginning so that I don't struggle during finals week. Cramming for final exams is not fun at all.
Next resolution! New Years Resolution #7 is to Practice photography more! I got a Nikon D3200 as my high school graduation gift, and despite having taken Photo classes for the last two years of high school, I haven't been using my DSLR to it's full capacity. I've been holding back on getting new lenses because I feel like it would be a waste of money, since I don't know all my camera functions. Anybody can just point and shoot a picture. I want to become close with my camera and make new, beautiful art ♡
My next resolution is something that I should have accomplished last year...and maybe should be a little higher on my resolution list xD New Years Resolution #8 is to Get my Driver's License and Drive myself where I need to go! I got my permit in August 2013, took my driver's test that December and failed ㅠㅠ, my permit expired while I was in Korea (summer 2014), and I got my permit again in November. I was planning to take my driver's test this month...but seeing as how I haven't been behind the wheel since the spring.......I don't think it's possible xD I'll take it at the end of this month at the earliest, but it's more likely that I won't be ready until February. I really need to start practicing. I'm 19 years old and I still don't have my license....hopefully that'll change soon xD
My final resolution is pretty simple. New Years Resolution #9 is to Get a job and make some extra cash! At 19 years old, I've never had a job...except for the occasional babysitting or tutoring. I figure that this year will be a good year to find work. I need some extra money anyway. Looking back at how much I've spent in the past few month...I really need to make some money. The allowance I get from my parents isn't enough....apparently I have very expensive tastes. I hope luck is on my side and I can find a job...
So those are my New Years Resolution for 2015 :D I think they're pretty reasonable, nothing too difficult. I'll look back at this post in a year and hopefully I've accomplished all my goals.
