Makeup Routine 2014 + End of the Year Selfies
Thursday, January 01, 2015
As the last day of the year, I decided that it was a day that had to be dedicated to two of my favorite pastimes: selfies and makeup ♡
With both my parents were at work and my brother at my cousin's house, I had the time to make myself pretty :)
I actually decided to try out a new makeup style. After looking at the pictures that were taken this last Christmas, my dad told me that I looked too white/pale and that I put on too much makeup. I put on really minimal makeup for two reasons: 1. I'm too lazy to put in all that effort and 2. I don't even know how to really put on heavy makeup xD I'm naturally more on the lighter side (because I never go outside) but I guess my dad just didn't realize it.
My usual makeup routine is really simple.
I start with my Etude House CC Cream Silky. I only started using CC Cream this summer. Before that, I never put anything on my face except for lotion. I have no idea how foundation or powder or anything works xD CC Cream was recommended to me by a worker at the Etude House store I went to in Myeongdong. I like it because it makes my skin look very pretty in pictures ;)
After that I use the "Gorgeous" color from the Chosungah 22 Finger Play Kit.13 eyeshadow palette. I don't do anything special with my eyeshadow, that's saved for days I'm feeling more bold or I feel like experimenting. I usually just dab the color on my middle finger and tap my eyelid a few times. Then I get a blending brush and spread the color out.
Then I put on eyeliner: Sephora Rio Nights. The first eyeliner I ever tried was liquid eyeliner, but I have grown to prefer gel liner. I personally think it's a lot easier that liquid, and I don't like pencil liner. For me, eyeliner is an essential part of my make up. I have been very unlucky in that I have uneven eyelids(?). Basically, my eyelid crease is higher on my right eye and it makes my right eye look much smaller than my left.
To finish it all, I add some color to my look: Etude House Princess Happy Ending Lips (Apple Red and Purple Rose) and/or Wet n Wild Balm Stain (A Stiff Pink and Red-dy or Not). I use the red shades more often, and I realized that using red lip color makes me look even paler. I just so happened to be wearing Red-dy or Not during Christmas...that's probably why I looked so white xD
Like I mentioned earlier, I decided to go for something different for today's look. I decided to pass on the eyeliner. My mom has been complaining that I use too much eyeliner ㅠㅠ She doesn't understand the struggles I go through to make my eyes look at least a little bit even. So since I had a lot of time on my hands today, I decided to see if I could make my look work without eyeliner.
So instead of eyeliner, I decided to put some falsies. I had my last pair of Dolly Wink No.11 lashes that were really worn out and should have been thrown out a while ago. While it looked better to have the lashes on than without, I'm still not used to seeing my eyes so uneven when I have makeup on. I guess it's just a lack of confidence :// I need my eyeliner!! D:
I'm not much of a lip gloss girl, I prefer lipstick, but I got this Tony Moly Lip Master in Back Hug Pink as a gift from a friend for Christmas, so I thought I'd try it out :) I have to say, it's not that bad. I thought the color was really pretty. The color was nice and I thought it was cool how different lighting made the color so drastically different. The only negative thing was that it kept smudging every time I'd accidentally touch my lips :/ But that's whatever...I shouldn't be touching my lips in the first place if I have lip gloss/stick on.
I had a lot of fun today, home alone xD I spent at least two hours getting prettied up and taking a bunch of pictures. As much fun I had and despite how much I enjoyed myself...I really need to find something productive to do...I can't waste my winter break away! Hopefully I'll find something...xD
